Luxury Villa Renovation on the Belgian Coast, Knokke – 450 m²
Nestled in the heart of Belgium’s most sought-after seaside resort, this villa designed by architect Marc Corbiau is a masterclass in sober, luminous elegance.
The interior atmosphere is built around a soft, light-toned palette elevated by noble materials such as marble and wood, creating a timeless aesthetic with quiet confidence. The custom-designed library, crafted from sandblasted wood veneer and finished in white lacquer, retains the material’s natural texture while embracing refined simplicity. This minimalist line is gently disrupted by marble niches with integrated backlighting—adding a sculptural, inviting warmth to the space. The entire composition is anchored by a steel base that houses an open fireplace, its vertical lines establishing a graphic rhythm echoed throughout the home—from the kitchen’s slatted facades to the bespoke headboard, and through to the walk-in wardrobe and bathroom.
The kitchen strikes a perfect balance between tradition and modernity. It pairs the organic warmth of wood grain with the sleek surfaces of Corian, centered around a triangular island illuminated by a ceiling light designed as a modern skylight. Geometric purity is softened by rounded corners and organic curves, which flow naturally into a sophisticated bathroom fully clad in Carrara marble. To add a refreshing burst of energy, the walk-in wardrobe comes to life with bold rectangular panels in vibrant shades of yellow and magenta—offering a confident, artistic contrast in this exceptional project.
