Luxury Apartment Design in a Haussmannian Building, 1st arrondissement, Paris – 60m²

The Maxime De Campenaere Studio has envisioned this exclusive short-term rental apartment as a timeless retreat, blending past and future in a velvety, boudoir-like atmosphere. Almost cinematic in its design, the space invites guests to become protagonists in their own Parisian story, set against the backdrop of the world’s most beautiful city.

This two-bedroom, T-shaped apartment centers around a concentric living area, offering a seamless access to each room while optimizing space, resulting in a fluid, harmonious layout where the living area becomes a true gathering place—both welcoming and intimate.
Balancing warmth and coolness, elegance and relaxation, the decor effortlessly merges vintage finds with contemporary design pieces. The interior design aesthetic draws inspiration from Maxime’s personal travel photography, the cinematic lighting and storytelling of films like Blade Runner 2049 by Denis Villeneuve and Self 05 by Wong Shia, and the evocative paintings of Edward Hopper.

The photographs taken by Maxime De Campenaere, a real source of inspiration for the project’s color palette, find their place in the apartment.

With inherent sensuality and suggestive power, the glass bricks act as grand geometric frames—revealing glimpses of what lies beyond without fully unveiling the mystery, evoking the allure of shadow and light.

Materials such as wood veneer walls, stainless steel finishes, backlit circular ceilings, and yellow glass bricks have been meticulously chosen to offset the limited natural light. Embracing this constraint, the design opts for deep, rich hues and warm, tactile materials to create an inviting, immersive environment.
Glass bricks play a pivotal role, allowing light to filter into the apartment’s core. This creates a mesmerizing interplay of shadows and reflections, distorting reality and casting a soft, golden glow throughout the interiors.

“'Color is embraced with bold confidence, blending cool and warm tones. From light blues to deep reds, with gradations of mauve and lavender, the palette is reminiscent of the dreamlike landscapes of the Canary Islands, infusing the apartment with a unique and transportive energy.'”
